I just found this poem again.
It was pack away.
It was given to me by a wonderful lady
with a grandchild that had cancer.
Sadly to say she past away.
I made a pillow for her to give to her daughter.
I printed on tea stained muslin.
and added a quilt around it.
I was so thankful she asked me to make one.
Now I am passing it on.
*****************************************
Special Child
A meeting was held quite far from Earth
It was time again for another birth.
Said a Angels to the Lord above,
"This special child will need much love"
"Her progress may be very slow"
"Accomplishment she may not show"
"And she'll require extra care,
from the folks she meets down there."
"She may not run or laugh or play"
"Her thoughts may seem quite far away"
So many times she will be labeled 'different',
'helpless' and 'disabled'."
"So let's be careful where she's sent."
"We want her life to be content."
"Please , Lord, find the parents who
will do a special job for you."
"They will not realize right away
"The leading role they are asked to play."
"But with this child sent from above
come stronger faith, and richer love."
"And soon they'll know the privilege given
in caring for their gift from heaven."
"Their precious charge, so meek and mild
is heaven's very special child."
May your day be filled with blessing today
Cindy

What a beautiful poem. We have had friends with handicapped children, and discovered that they truly are a special blessing. They often teach us to slow down and enjoy the best things in life.

That is such a great poem...it brought tears to my eyes because too many times I rush things...not slowing down to enjoy them.
Thank you for sharing with us!

That is one of many poems I used in cards when I was a chemoangel. There is nothing sadder than loosing a child!!
